Swarm Catching

In the spring and early summer, honeybees will often split from the original hive.  If you ever see a cluster like this or see a group pass by, please contact us right away!  We can provide a safe home for them.

Teaching

We offer specialized classes tailored to your needs.  Whether it is individual training or small groups.  Harvesting honey undoubtedly is self-fulfilling but being part of education and awareness is even more rewarding.  Kids and adults alike are fascinated with how to care for bees and find out how industrious and friendly they really are.

In Hive Experience

Not sure if you are up to having bees surrounding you? or perhaps you would like to take a peek inside a hive to see what the buzz is all about.

Movies and bad experiences with different types of “mean bees” can make people nervous to work around hives.  With the proper gear, and with good instruction, there is nothing like going inside the inner workings of a real hive!

Honey Harvesting

Sweet rewards!  Bees work really hard all year long, and you have dedicated your time and resources along the way.  A mature hive typically will produce an excess of what is needed, and there is nothing like extraction day.  It is a sticky sweet mess, but always a joyous occasion just like cider pressing day.

Honey for Sale

Looking for some local raw honey or pollen? Send us a message.   We help harvest for community hives in our area and for ourselves.  We live in a relatively commercial free zone surround by national park and ocean.  This gives the local bees some of the best forage.  It is ideal to support your local beekeeper and get local pollen and honey but feel free to reach out and check if we have any supply available.

Caring for the next generation

In the Pacific Northwest we are in a climate that is completely different than areas like California.  It takes extra care, extra gear, and a little bit more honey left for the bees for winter to help them get through the weather.  If you are considering becoming a beekeeper, look around at your local clubs, but don’t be discouraged if you don’t find a mentor right away.  There are good teachers out there, but a critical element is finding the right support.
